Well its the Monday after the Plymouth Budweiser classic race of champions. The racing was awesome. The track turned into a rough maze of excellence. The Curve Industries Polaris was working hard all weekend. My suspension felt pretty dialed in to tackle the whoops and kickers created on the face of the jumps. It all started out in Sport Super Stock #1 final with 10 riders on the line. Out of the hole and into the first turn I was 4th. After 2 laps the field was settled and I was running a quick pace in the 5th position after loosing a spot threw the whoops. On the 2nd to last lap of the race me and a fellow racer (good buddy) flew up the face of "Plymouth mountain" side by side. It felt great to be flying threw the air but my heart sank when I looked over to see my buddy in a front flip going end over end. He hit a kicker in the lip and lost the sled. I was flying next to a sled in the air doing flips. This was a very scary moment as the race got red flagged with 1 lap to go. Michael ended up being alright with only a dislocated shoulder but a complete totaled 2010 skidoo. Here we sit with a single file restart with 1 lap to go siting in 5th place. Knowing the guy in front of me would have to check-up/wait for the guy in front of him to hook up and take off I immediately cut out left of the line and hammered it down and flew by the guy in front of me taking the 4th spot and the checker flag a few turns later.

In Sport #2 we had a combined class with a double flag drop. My pick on the line was horrible, I was in a hole and icy (take it how they come I guess). With that said we took the flag and I went into the 3rd position and that's where it ended. I took the 3rd spot on the podium.

Overall I was very happy with my results. a 4th and a 3rd is very respectable but I still need to work and dig deeper for the next round. My pace and skills are right in the hunt. I am very excited for the next round on January 30th.

That is a good clutch setup, I am experimenting with that as well as something else. I will let you know after this Friday what I got dialed in.

Clutch components came in on Friday! I have a little bit of time before my next race to get them in and test it out. My race is on January 30th in the GNSS/ISOC WI Regional race in Kaukauna, WI. Our weather here in WI is starting to get a bit warm, we are all doing the cold and snow dance!

Matt, nice work this season!  We need some snow BAD in NY.  It's been real cold but real dry too.  Everything keeps hitting south.  Virginia has more than us right now.

Well well well. Here we sit again with 2 race weekends under the belt. I apologize to everyone about the late write up. My life has been crazy these past 2 weeks with a new job. I barely have time to sleep haha.

Feb 6th 2010:

Anyways 2 weeks ago we raced In Kaukauna, WI at the WIR drag strip. The track was so fun, and the competition even better. All day I struggled with starts and I will have to admit had not a thing for anyone on the line. I battled hard all day and came out with a 6th in Sport #1 and a 3rd in Sport #2. The venue was a great place and I was super excited to get into the next race at Weyauwega, WI for the Fire On Ice event.

Feb 13 2010:

I just woke up from an amazing night of racing to say the very least. Last night I finally showed my true abilities on a sled. I finally got great starts all day long except my first 2 races out of 6. I started out a bit ruff. In my first heat we took the hole shot and went over the first table top, well I landed and my sled cut out and died. So there I was with a dead sled and everyone flying past me. I scrambled to figure it out and it turned out to be that my kill switch got knocked down. I have no idea how it happened, if it just slid down from the impact or if my hand came off and knocked it. It all happened so fast. I regrouped and charged to gain 2 positions finishing in 7th.

From then on I rode amazing. I finally was able to find that overdrive gear and get out front and run where I know I can and should be. I ripped every hole shot from then on out. The battles were so intense all night long. My competition and I have never had so much fun out on the track battling. With all the respect we have for each other and the price tags on our equipment it was kept clean the entire time. So many times I could have taken a guy out and times where he could have taken me out. In every heat/final we were able to keep it about the racing.

In sport #1 I took the hole shot and ripped out to a great lead about 20 sled lengths. On the 4th lap I started to think too much and not breath. I got fatigued and in my head I was saying OMG I am going to win this. Well I made 2 small bobbles and 2nd place caught up to me. We took turn 4 neck and neck and the finish line ski to ski. Dylan etching me out for the win on lap 5 and have a big battle with Jake for 2nd place where I was able to hold it strong and bring home 2nd!

In sport 2 it was much of the same. I crushed the hole shot and never looked back until lap 5 where Jake and myself had a battle all race long and he etched my out for the win on the last lap and I lost by a sled length or 2.

Overall two 2nd places. I am super stoked on the night of racing. I had so much fun and the exposure was HUGE. SPEED TV was there to film the races to be aired on Lucas Oil - Racing on the edge at a later time. I will be sure to let everyone know when it will be aired. Hopefully our racing was good enough to make the show!

Until next race keep it classy!

Well this past weekend we raced in Eagle River, WI at the famous Derby Track. Round 5 and 6 of the GNSS series. The track was ruff and sloppy. The weather was warm making the snow very sugary and vulnerable to falling apart fast. It was the roughest track of the season. I was able to tame it though. I was happy with my results for such a rough track.

Saturday Round 5:
Sport 1 - 4th
Sport 2 - 2nd

Sunday Round 6:
Sport 1 - 3rd
Sport 2 - 3rd

Hey everyone,

Another season has come and gone. It was an amazing season and I had some of the best times and met some great people along the way. Again it was another truly amazing season working with Sean and Nick at Curve. I feel blessed to have such a strong backing by them. I would also like to shout out to Jordan at G-4 Graphics and Sean and Nick hooking me that way to make a killer wrap and promote.

In my main GNSS racing series, I took 5th in Sport #1 and 2nd in Sport #2 for season ending. Yet these were great results, I still felt like I was a little short in Sport #1, my goal was to be top 3 in both classes. I still cannot be bummed about my season.

Last weekend I attended the ISOC National race in Lake Geneva, WI. The track was the best thing I have ever ridden on. Lap times were over 1 minute and the pace was FAST. On Friday it was well above 50*, near 60*. We had the sled jetted down to 320's and it still was not right. We just could not get it to run in summer like weather. On Saturday it was a different story. We woke up to 2" of fresh wet snow and it was a high of 40*. We went risky and decided to leave the 320's and just go out and giv'er. Needless to say the sled ran awesome (maybe a little to awesome, on the edge). I ended up getting a 5th and a 8th on my heats to just miss the LCQ for the main. There were near 70 sport riders all trying to make the 15 person final. It was a tough task to fill. Overall it was a great time and experience.

I would like to thank:
