I bought my skis from u guys back at the Big East show...... i took my sled out around my yard for the first time tonight, not because i wanted to, but more because I NEEDED TOO !!! ..... we got a fast couple inches, and like i said...just  whipped around my house twice. I noticed that the frond end was really hard to turn, and i dont know if it was from the ground being soft, or becuase of the way my rear skid suspension is set. In your opinion, how should i have my straps/shocks set , at least as a base point for me to start dialing. Any help before the snow really hits, would be a huge help. Thanks guys !!!!!!

If you were digging into the ground at all it will increase your steering effort tremendously.  Out of the box, the Nytro has probably the highest steering effort of any machine right off the bat.  What you'll want to do once you get some time on it is increase the preload on your front skid shock 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time and see how that affects both your ride quality and steering effort.  There is a fine line you'll be running with that adjustment.  A second option is to pull down on the rear limiting straps one or two holes from factory.  The last adjustment you can make is to the front shocks.  If you can get the machine to sit lower to the ground, some of the front end weight will be taken up by the skid, reducing your steering effort.

Usually, a little of all these adjustments make the best setup but you'll only want to adjust ONE thing at a time.  If you adjust two points at once, you'll have no idea where the bennefit or loss came from.

The only problem i have is that i bought the sled as leftover demo....and the straps are not in their stock locations.....so i need to know where they "should" be so i know what im working with...... thanks again.

Do you have a factory manual?  If you don't, I HIGHLY recommend you purchase one and use it when you perform any work.  I'm not sure what the stock positions are on the '08 but it might be a good idea to set it back to stock after you pick up a manual and move along from there.

This post is a little old so this response might be too late but, Stock setting for limiter straps is in the first hole. I have both straps pulled down two holes.  But, I put a 136" long track on my sled... alot of guys seem to be just pulling both straps just 1 hole.

Thanks for the info Dunham!  It's never too late to learn and with the Nytro - there's plenty to look into.  We've had great success running a lower float pressure to bring the front end down.  Also, KEEP AN EYE ON TOE!  With Curve XS skis, you want +3/8" to +5/16" TOE OUT.

Hey No problem... I was planning on writing a review on my new ski's but I had an issue my first time out and ended up bending a Lower A Arm and the Carbide on the ski. This happened the first 10 minutes of the day and hadn't even made it to the trails yet...lol.  Either way after a few hours with a come-along, pry bars, and some mickey mousing I got the sled good enough to ride... Despite the bad start to the day,  I had a relativly good day of riding and had no issues with Darting (I do have the leading edge on my ski's).  I had the sled going 100 across the lake with a tweaked A arm and still thought it was way better than the stock ski's.  I have a 136" long track on the Nytro so I think maybe I could go with the 6" carbides but when I get the new A arm on, I'll give the 4" another shot before switching.  Either way maybe my second time out will go better than my first and for those who haven't yet tighten the limiter straps and made some adjustments on the Center shock do it because it makes a big difference. 50 PSI on the Fox floats too... Lots Can be found about these ajustment on the other chat forums.... I'll be sure to check the toe adjustments before going out next weekend.....

Tough break Dunham!  I'm glad you have your wits about you when it comes to repairs though.  Sounds like you made the best of the worst and you came out on top to boot - we like it!  If you don't mind, keep us up to date on what adjustments you've made...

Yeah the suspension adjustments are still a work in progress... I'm only making one adjustment at a time...everyones gonna be different and I have a 136" long track kit on my sled now so some of this may be a little different for other riders but...
So far both limiter straps are pulled down two holes.... Fox floats are at 50 psi, Center shock is set at 20 clicks (soft) and I'm planning on loosening the Center spring up a bit before the next ride. I also did the upper ball joint mod and because of the recall had my lower Ball joints replaced.  The original lower Ball joints only had 500 miles on them and they were already junk.  Everything else is still at stock settings... I haven't made a ton of adjustments but everytime I do it only seems to get better... I'll keep you posted....

This question goes out to anyone that can answer it..... if ur sled is on the ground...and you are looking straight at it, shouldn't the spindles have a bit of negative camber ? I was at my local dealer the other day, and all of thier Nytros did, but mine for some reason doesn't, WITH the balljoint mod. Im a little concerned that this is contributing to my lack of steering performance. Also, does the degree of camber change, depending on how much air pressure you are running (ride height) ?  pics or actual degree measurements would be awesome !!!
